I have never before faced the prospect of losing someone dear to me. At the time of this post my grandmother lies in the Washington County Hospital. It looks like a large brain hemmorage will claim her life very soon. I have been angry and sad, but only for a brief period. Now I feel empty and numb. I try to sleep but I just sit there coughing. I don't know how to feel. I think I should feel something. I drank a fair amount of bourbon in an effort to feel something. It seemed to lighten my mood. But the emptiness is back. Why can't I feel something? Anything? Why?

So I went to Border's to relieve my boredom and just get out of the house. This older gentlemen dressed as Santa, save for the hat that had a black rim and a black tassle, approached me. He said to me that I looked like the "Hobbit Master." I only assume he meant Peter Jackson. I have heard this before, but never phrased in such an odd manner. I laughed so hard I nearly lost a lung, and this lung loss had nothing to do with my severe coughing. If I don't feel better tomorrow, I am going to call the doctor for an appointment. I hate being sick. It just adds to the crippling holiday depression that has stricken me. Bleh.

Jenn came down for a visit yesterday. We played many games, watched some movies, went shopping. In general we had lots of fun. She goes into surgery on her wrist later today, in like five hours. I don't remember being in last night's dream. It was more like watching a really weird movie. It seemed a combination of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Transformers the Movie. The villian was an amalgamation of Darth Vader, Sauron, and Unicron. This villian used a light saber in the form of a gigantic mace. Obi Wan looked like a cross between Willy Nelson and Gandalf. He wore a stylized white storm trooper uniform. The titanic struggle between these two was epic to say the least. It ranged all over the Death Star, which was an extension of Vader/ Sauron. This dream really boggled my mind. The only childhood element missing was the G.I. Joe factor. At least the villian didn't feature aspects of Cobra Commander or Serpentor. The dream also had some narration. The voice sounded like Johnny Cash at times and Waylon Jennings at others. Damned if it wasn't odd.
